My new job
After 24 amazing years in the big leagues it is time to say bye to my active career and welcome a new one as an instructor.The time is here. I just signed a contract with the Anaheim Angels to be part of their staff as a Roving instructor for the infielders.
I am pretty excited for the opportunity that I have to share all my knowledge and the things that helped me become a top infielder in my career and to help out some of the young talent that is hungry to learn and be willing to improve on their skills to become a better fielder.
I also will be listening to a lot of other coaches that I haven't been around to keep feeding my knowledge about the game and continue to help out the thousands of players that wondered so much about this difficult game. The angels where really nice to invite me to their Major League camp on the first couple of weeks of spring training and then I will reunite with the rest of the little league team on march 3rd when they supposed to start the work out.
Thanks to all the encouragement messages that I have being receiving about this new chapter of my life hoping that it can take me far enough to be a manager someday.............
Mi nueva faceta
Después de 24 increibles temporadas en las grandes ligas, debo decir adiós al terreno de juego como pelotero activo, pero le doy la bienvenida a una nueva etapa de mi vida como es la de instructor o entrenador de talentos.
Acabo de firmar un contrato con los Angelinos de California como instructor que rotará por los diferentes equipos de las ligas menores, instruyendo y aconsejando a los infielders sobre las habilidades que podrían llevarlos a ser mejores peloteros.
Estaré escuchando al grupo de coaches del manager Mike Scioscia con mucha atención, para seguir aprendiendo y llenar mucho más mis conocimientos sobre este difícil juego y continuar ayudando a todos aquellos peloteros que se preguntan tantas cosas de como ser mejor día a día.
Compartiré con el equipo grande las primeras 2 semanas de los entrenamientos primaverales. Después el día 3 de marzo estaré con las ligas menores para ayudarlos y encaminarlos a un mejoramiento en lo que se refiere a defensa.
Gracias a todas aquellas personas que me han enviado mensajes de apoyo para deserame suerte en el principio de mi nueva faceta, esperando que algun día pueda llegar a la meta final que es ser un manager exitoso.............
